CONSERVATION OFFICER (x2)

Job Description

Location – Assomption Island

The Conservation Officer will support SIF’s biosecurity and environmental management of Assomption Island throughout the construction and future operation of the hotel development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the effective implementation of the Assomption Biosecurity Management Plan, including ongoing regulatory monitoring, coordination with stakeholders, and collecting scientific data throughout the development.
• Ensure that all phases of the project comply with the approved Environmental and Social Management Plan, as well as the conditions outlined in the Notice of Acceptance of the approved Environmental and Social Impact Assessment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum a BSc in Environmental Science or related field, or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience of implementing/supporting biosecurity measures on islands.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in biodiversity monitoring or conservation work.
• Strong report writing and data entry/management skills.
