Mauritius Africa Scholarship Scheme 2026

Call for applications for Seychellois candidates

The Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the Mauritius Africa Scholarship Scheme 2026.

This scholarship opportunity is offered by the Government of Mauritius to deserving students from African Union and African Commonwealth countries. It is open to students applying for full time on campus studies at a public Higher Education Institution in Mauritius for the 2026 academic year. The scholarship supports successful candidates with tuition fees, a contribution towards living expenses, and return airfare by the most economical route.

The scheme is open for:

  • Undergraduate Diploma
  • Undergraduate Degree
  • MPhil
  • MPhil/PhD
  • PhD

Please note that:

  • applicants for undergraduate programmes must be above 18 years of age and must not have reached their 26th birthday by 1 January 2027.
  • applicants for postgraduate research programmes must not have reached their 40th birthday by 1 January 2027.
  • applicants must already have applied for an eligible programme in Mauritius.
  • applications must be processed through the nominating agency (i.e. the Seychelles Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development) and not sent directly by applicants.

The deadline for submission in Seychelles has been extended to 08 April 2026.
